The foreign chiefs of Japan and Britain have agreed to launch negotiations at an early date to conclude a new trade deal between the two countries.
Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and his British counterpart Dominic Raab met in Tokyo on Saturday.
Raab arrived in Japan from Australia as part of a four-country tour of the Asia-Pacific region. He is the first major British minister to visit abroad since the country left the European Union on January 31.
